you ad could not be here

…according to reports, Google is developing the technology to enable them to start selling advertising space on real life billboards and posters in Street View. Google registered a new patent which describes how it plans to identify buildings, posters, signs and billboards and give advertisers the ability to replace these images with their own ads…

further evidence of the shift from a physical to a virtual world and of course, the weird world we live in… the lawyers are already sharpening their knives it seems

…as cool as this is, it raises a number of potential questions which I’m sure will have to be dealt with some point in the near future, especially if this technology can be used for turn-by-turn navigation and Augmented Reality applications. Who actually owns the real life space once it’s online/mobile?…

weltformat

an international poster competition for design students, the deadline for entries is september the 30th but the only question is what exactly are they asking for?:

… the posters are reflections of the society that views them and for whomthey are produced and hung in masses. The high requests and the interest fromsociety are reflected in this fascinatingmedia: its needs, its wishes and its dreams. The students are being challenged to consider the advantages and the powers of posters as an advertisement- and communication media. Posters for theposter – this must be the visual statement of the poster design…

say what?…
