a new pack of cards
a set of shiny cards arrived this week, the printed examples (plus packaging) of the ‘podium’ gift cards i recently designed as part of a refreshed identity for the ‘podium’ national gift system for live venues (theater, music concerts and live festivals)
they have been prouced using a combination, matte plastic, high-gloss spot varnish, coloured foil stamps and lots of layered images in indesign, the result looks very pleasing… i will upload the whole identity case to ‘me work’ very soon…

the stone twins (currently heading up the ‘man & communication’ course) shared some of the projects with me from the latest crop of graduates from the design academy eindhoven ‘class of 2011’
as the press release states, under their leadership the curriculum is aiming to change direction and clarify it’s relevance to sociey… or put simply “Less Bubble, More World”

i’ve just finished an A5 flyer for the ‘hoofdzaken’ project, here’s a sneak preview… although the exact style i’m trying to acheive isn’t quite ready yet, the imagery is a mix of computer generated and handmade type, more news soon
mangelinckx
a new name to me: belgian designer jonathan mangelinckx who specialises mostly in identities for record labels apparently
i really like, for example, his work for the ‘untold’ label… combining still-life photography and geometrical patterns; more work can be seen here
