vandalism, isolated houses & dogs chasing my car in the desert

i have just stumbled upon the fascinating, graphic work of photographer and artist john divola from the states, whose work now spans four decades

the site contains a very thorough archive of his images and one of the highlights for me is the ‘vandalism’ series from the early 70’s, which somehow looks very contemporary…

(thanks to ‘today & tomorrow’ for causing me to stumble upon this one…)

the sound of gigaflops

dutch photographer ‘anno pieterse’ asked himself what the internet ‘looks like’, i mean really looks like and this is what he saw… a fascinating and lifeless void, where colourful cables and dull boxes alternate between monotonous repetition and chaos

his two series data and transport both received an ‘honourable mention’ in the charmingly named ‘deeper perspective’ category at this year’s ‘international photo awards’… be prepared to exercise your scroll finger

this post is adpated from one i wrote for design blog ‘fontanel’
