mobile me

the revamped ‘iPhone’ version of the ‘me blog’ is now online, this version with a slightly modified navigation should work on all mobile devices, there seem to be a few problems with ‘android’ devices at the moment but we are working on it

the easy solution would be if everyone just got rid of their android thingy and bought an iphone, thanks in advance for your cooperation…

shop talk

yesterday a group of second year graphic design students from ‘university college falmouth’ in the UK visited the studio to have a look at some work and talk about getting started in the business

as usual it was really nice to meet the next generation of designers and share some ideas about the profession, good luck guys and see you again some time maybe… many thanks for the ‘goodies’ too!

hashtags & thumbs

it just occured to me that somebody, somewhere may just be (maybe) interested to follow ‘me’ on facebook or perhaps on twitter, in which case be my guest…

other various links (linked in, behance etc.) can be found in the ‘me’ menu: just click on that rather nice logo (top left) end of message

16th century, contemporary proportions

a newly designed (very complete & elaborate) font family from mister ‘henrik kubel’ a.k.a. A2 type called quite simply ‘antwerp’ which is full of historical references, as the man himself states:

…my passion and admiration for 15 and 16th century Italian, French and Dutch typefaces might shine through in Antwerp — I acknowledge that it has become an integral part of my ‘type dna’ — It’s how I design letters, fonts, alphabets and it’s also a direct translation of how I draw type by hand on paper — in other words, I have been conditioned by history!…

more details on the font and it’s process can be found here

meOS5

many thanks to several of my twitter followers (particularly daniel van der winden) for pointing this out to me: it would seem that the iOS5 update is wreaking havoc on many sites when viewed on mobile devices, such as the iphone/ipad… including mine, we are working on it

although that effect looks pretty good… it seems to happen when you zoom…
