…gaddafi had already ruled Libya for 15 years in June 1984 and he had a fearsome reputation for brutality towards his enemies. But the grim scene that unfolded in the eastern city of Benghazi was a spectacular first even for him. It was blazing hot day. Thousands of schoolchildren and students were bussed into Benghazi’s basketball stadium, where they saw a frightened young man with curly hair and beard, kneeling with his hands bound behind his back, pleading for his life before people’s prosecutors. Sadiq Hamid Shwehdi, 30, was accused of plotting to assassinate the leader of the revolution. The court described him as “a terrorist from the Muslim Brotherhood, an agent of America”…

for the second consecutive year the dutch design week will again be hosting the film and design festival in sunny eindhoven in late october, i’d never heard of it before but it looks interesting…

i’m finally ‘back to mac’ a bit later than planned… due to a slightly unusual weekend involving missed ferryboats, towed cars, lots of fines and wasted money, lots of mud and even more rain, sprained ankles, hospitals, customs searches, alcohol, music and a lot of laughs… anyway back to business

wonderful ipad app that celebrates the real physical book and paradoxically puts the ipad to good use as an interactive alternative to the real book, well worth a look the app is too, i just had a play with it… (thanks to my wife for the tip x)
