inky back

amusing image sent to me by my mate andre thijssen, should you happen to own a visible tattoo and visit his studio at any point the chances are that you will be undressing before long to and end up being photographed agains a white wall… like this beef cake who, by his own admission, is a human sketch book for a local tattoo artist… andre coincidentally has a show opening in london at the kk outlet next week…

don’t work for money

some posters i have just completed this week, the brief was to say something about the process of how you work, how you feel about your work or contrasting aspects of your work…
i chose two quotes to work with, the first one made (surprisingly) by none other than walt disney:
‘you reach a point where you don’t work for money’ which works for me on many levels

the second is a series of two posters that visualise a quote from sigmund freud which also resonates well for me:
‘love and work, work and love, that’s all there is…’

one or more of these posters will be part of an exhibition in the hague next month, more news soon

40 – you ok with that?

…the result is a truly modern breakthrough in road safety, designed specifically to grab the fly-like attention span of the people most likely to mow you down while texting about some shit they’ve just seen on Youtube, OK?…

british design magazine ‘blueprint’ recently asked a number of designers to reinterpret the classic road signs, as usual the contributions varied form the serious to the silly, amongst the better ones were these offerings from ‘modern toss’ who chose to do what they do best: make some modern toss…

all of the other complete sets can be seen here via blueprint
