mister shoe will be launching his new book ‘painter’ at an event in amsterdam this coming saturday, i won’t be able to make it sadly… have fun and keep it clean

a new book featuring some of our projects again this week: ‘how to use type’ by laurence king, this one seems to be aimed more at students just getting started and has a more educative feel to it

not a name i was familiar with: jan heijnen a multi-faceted designer working in the hague, certainly worth a visit this portfolio

congratulations to the winners of this years dutch design awards, for which i was involved in the scouting committee once again
in particular to lesley moore for a well-deserved win in the category ‘communication’ and to christian borstlap for the ‘best motion design’ and the ‘golden eye award’, more news on the official website: sadly my client; the dutch national ballet wasn’t a winner in the category best client award but still they were amongst the nominees, which is a result…

a cool shredded invite arrived in the post this week: for the upcoming papier hier event in amsterdam next month
this years event has chosen ‘tactile’ as its theme and i will be doing a talk alongside some people who i admire very much: akatre, hansje van halem, hattie newman and a big favourite of mine ian wright… check the website for details, see also this related post
(the invite was designed by co-organisers ‘lava’)
