officially launched last week: amsterdamdam …contains over 800 images from the Dam Square in Amsterdam. The sources of the website are seven historic and various private archives…

one shop which i pass everyday in amsterdam is local ‘vinyl junkies’ paradise waxwell records
a record store with a small window space that has always been used to maximum effect with a series of 24 sleeves either based on a colour (queensday orange) or a theme such as ‘covers featuring fruit’ and so on… it’s one of my favourites to look out for (images borrowed from their facebook page)


(our latest client) the metropole orkest is a large (pop/jazz/world) musical ensemble in the netherlands, formerly part of the ‘mco’ (a broadcasting conglomerate with state support) however recent cuts in art subsidies means that the future is looking uncertain, to draw attention to their plight and to get the public involved they are launching a new initiative called simply the tweetphony
you are invited to compose your own little score (in 140 characters) via a clever twitter widget…. this friday the best ones will be rapidly transformed into a music score and within the same day played live by a 55 man strong orchestra, sounds fun… get composing
