i recieved these images in the mail this week: a piece of typography i created for the ‘sugar factory’ for a poster a few years back (using powdered sugar) has been turned into a large steel & led light installation by artist ‘diederik schoorl’… nice!
me news
suzy glam loves the internet
meet suzy glam, she makes really beautiful glasses and she has just launched her new website this afternoon, which we designed along with her logo, but seriously check out her glasses they are the best…
bang bang
much like arguing that the swastika is one of the strongest and most effective logos ever made (it is) saying that guns are beautiful (as objects) can be a difficult thing to admit… even to yourself, i must admit however that the ‘gun series’ from dan tobin smith really does remind how aesthetically alluring guns are… which paradoxically reminds me how terrible & ugly they also are
the daily recommendation
a daily selection of random objects and desirable ‘things’ from fantastic man, they even have a ‘fantastic’ app if you so wish…
coffee time
one of the cutest mailings i have ever received from a student: a complete laser-cut 3D coffee percolator, which after a lot of folding and glueing (yes i did take the time) turned into a life-size coffee pot, nicely done and it was even topical to the content of the accompanying letter (screen printed onto the model) from ‘karin hilgenkamp’
unfortunately i am not able to take her as an intern at the moment, but if anybody is looking for a highly motivated intern who managed to get herself noticed… let me know, karin would love to hear from you
