me news

one, two… action

we spent a long day in the studio yesterday with ‘erwin olaf’ shooting a whole series of images for the 2011-2012 campaign for the dutch national ballet, in fact we made four different images, involving a large number of the top dancers… including one of my favourites ‘anu’ from finland

as i’ve mentioned before ‘erwin’ runs a tight ship and despite the complicated logistics and set changes, the whole thing was finished by 6pm, more news and images soon…

analogue retouching

talking of arab spring…. very strange this one: the annual ‘world press’ exhibition poster features a gruesomely disfigured young arab woman this year, designer ‘franklin de bekker’ discovered that one of the posters hanging in amsterdam had actually been hand-retouched by somebody using paint to replace her missing nose… wow

arab spring

21.622

remarkable campaign/idea from local amsterdam newspaper ‘het parool’, a single sheet poster listing all of the houses where jews lived in amsterdam during the war and from where they were deported to concentration camps, the idea is that readers who discover that their house is on the list, should hang the poster up, it reads: ‘one of the 21.622 houses where jews lived that were deported and murdered during the second world war’ a sort of analogue geo-tagging history project and awareness campaign in one… very nice idea
