me news

skin deep

naked bum cheeks seem to form a neat bridge (or cleavage?) between the previous post and this one… as we spent the day yesterday in a photo studio with ‘erwin olaf’ and three dancers ‘igone’ (holland), ‘sefton’ (UK) and ‘anatole’ (the ukraine) shooting another new image for the 2011-2012 anniversary season for the dutch national ballet, the second image was shot later in the afternoon

we will be back for a very long day again this coming thursday, shooting a (demanding) total of three separate images with various dancers and custom made sets, in just one day… more news to follow later

new work

just back from the printers this week: our latest posters for the dutch national ballet, many thanks to mister ‘bart oomes’ for the airborne imagery… and of course to pollie for patiently standing still again

plus the flyer for ‘cinĂ©ma arabe’ also arrived back this week, more new work due in early next week

the larkin trail

manchester-based studio ‘united creatives’ have installed a series of 25 hand-painted typographical signs around the city of hull in the UK to mark the 25th anniversary of celebrated poet philip larkin’s death and his attachment to the city

as quoted from the original article from the ‘design week’ website: …the signs each mark a key Larkin site. Some, such as the University Library, where he worked as a librarian for 30 years, are obvious, while others, like the Marks & Spencer store on Whitefriargate that inspired his poem The Large Cool Store, are appealingly banal. Each sign provides information about Larkin and his work and explains his links to the city. Put together, the signs tell the story of Larkin the poet, the librarian, the jazz fan and the lover…

good fortune

the TDC recently sent a select number of international designers a fortune cookie with a message and a request to send a poster back, the resulting work is being auctioned right now to raise money for student scholarships

several dutch entries can be seen (and bid for) amongst the whole set right here
