the dutch fair very well in this annual overview of the best photobooks of 2010, from the likes of ‘martin parr’ and ‘willem van zoetendaal’ (congrats to my friends andré thijssen and of course designer ‘sybren kuiper’ too, who has several of his designs amongst the list)
although it’s a shame that the translation of some of the english text appears to have been done by google translate on a bad day (see ‘van zoetendaal’ for example) oops…

…are you reading fewer books? I am and reading books is sort of my job. It’s just that with the multifarious delights of the internet, spending 20 hours in the company of one writer and one story needs motivation. It’s worth doing, of course; like exercise, its benefits are many and its pleasures great. And yet everyone I know is doing it less. And I can’t see that that trend will reverse…

ok, it would seem that location is a factor and it’s all pretty relative anyway… but here’s ‘me’ wishing everyone, everywhere much happiness and peace in the year ahead

thanks a million for visiting ‘me’, sending ‘me’ cool stuff, angry mails, good advice, paying my bills and giving me the opportunity to make lots of nice stuff and have a lot of fun in the past year, it’s been a hectic but good year (honest) making a living in graphic design has never been so challenging as in the current economic & political climate but i still couldn’t think of anything better to do with my life…
the blog visitors are increasing at the rate of something like about 70% every year, so keep up the good work and most of all do keep in touch, see you back here next week/year xxx
