i was approached last week to do a small interview for dutch newspaper ‘het parool’ for their ‘street style’ column on the subject of fashion (ha ha)… the final result and the photo weren’t (too) embarassing, luckily, although i somehow managed to get on the subject of wearing underwear outdoors…
it was published yesterday and the image was shot by young talent ‘robin de puy’, i’ll post a link as soon as she has uploaded it… (click on the ‘street style’ link in the menu)
it was a difficult and shameful week to be british, watching scum looting and even killing on the streets of london, as egypt proved social media can be a vehicle for change
however, as london proved, the downside is that they can be used to organise evil… but also be used to help victims, express solidarity and reconcile communities…

like many, i’ve been playing around with google+ for the past few weeks and i’m still not sure what to make of it… is this a useful addition to my needs? or just another way to waste useful time online each day? sure it looks better than that awful conservative facebook blue world and seems less ‘trivial’ as a network medium somehow to me, although i find myself balancing between appreciating the fact that somebody has finally created a platform that links many functions together (apple where are you?) but at the same time i worry that we are putting so much of our vital information in the hands of one giant corporation again… any thoughts? let me know…
…people begin to get better when they fail…
if anyone knows what really matters in my profession and why, it is probably milton glaser… worth a watch (via ‘michiel schuurman’)
p.s. also check wally olins and the ‘sag’, basically they all say the same albeit in their own way and of course wer all knew it to be true even though we instinctively don’t accept it…
