printed matter back from the printers this week: a new poster for the metropole orkest and some of the uncut sheets which will eventually become the fourth and final book in the jubileum series we designed for the same client this year, more news to follow soon…
me news
hnmt
this week, i finally managed to attend the live drawing classes entitled hollands next modeltekenen regularly hosted by artist willum geerts
the idea being that you get to draw nude models but then combined with audio, music, light effects and projections, the sessions are orchestrated by willum and are timed to make the participants react in different ways to what they perceive
it was fun to take part in and here are some of my first efforts (i decided to use my ipad instead of paper)
light NL
a beautiful new stamp set of the netherlands mapped out in light, by daan roosegaarde for the dutch post office
voices of tolerance
a typographic installation for the new entrance building of the ons’ liever heer op solder (our lord in the attic) church/museum in the red light district, amsterdam
the newly refurbished museum will open this week (yesterday in fact!) and was completed literally just on time… one week from briefing to realisation
the floor design features the word ‘tolerance’ in 23 languages inlaid on a golden ‘strip’ of light and several typographic surfaces in gold on a specially designed bench
you can see larger images on this facebook post
the project was commissioned by ‘xsaga’ and created together with their team
book 3
an advance copy of the third book for the metropole orkest arrived this week, looking good…
now we just have to wait for the fourth (and final one) to arrive before i can properly post the whole project, which should be just after christmas/new year
