that the ‘minnesota mining and manufacturing company’ changed it’s name to 3M seems logical when you know it, maybe some of the other origins of brand names might be a surprise, the site is a real sight for sore eyes but still worth a quick look

this popular ‘hoax’ was wrongly attributed to a hacker, who had reportedly managed to modify the data in google ‘street view’
in fact it is a ‘user upload’ to the ‘panorama view’ photo layer in google earth: a funny little UFO flying over ‘cape of good hope’ south africa… i tried to find it on google but it appears to have been removed… the coordinates are as follows 34°21’12.33″ S, 18°29’24.02″ E

i came across this amusing looking project on facebook called ‘opera #8’ which recently took place at the ‘kröller müller’ museum near arnhem, involving peepholes in newspapers and audio effects (or perhaps opera music?) it is from local artist ‘willum geerts’: the same guy who made that hilarious dutch national flag, his website doesn’t yet mention the project so i can’t provide any proper information other than the images shown here…
