more new work june ’11

the first copies of the overview book i recently made for the 2011 edition of ‘fotofestival naarden’ arrived back this week, here’s a short preview…

the book can be ordered directly from blurb, the hardback edition (shown here) is pricey but worth it, if you ask me… there is also a soft cover edition available, which i still haven’t seen myself

temporary ‘dingen’

i attended the best dutch books ceremony last friday in the stedelijk museum, we all received a special customised ‘winners’ version of this years catalogue, very competently made this year by ‘niels schrader’, there was some less good news too which i hadn’t yet heard: designer and curator ‘maarten jongema’ sadly, recently passed away after a serious illness… see here an obituary from fellow-designer harmen liemburg

in the books introduction text i read that my personal entry this year (and the one i was really hoping to get selected): the ‘façade’ recycled book, was a candidate till the last minute; i.e. it ‘very nearly’ made the selection…oh well (pictured above and see also this related post)

for the two ‘dingen’ books which did make the 2010 selection see these related posts here, here, and here, plus last years’ award-winning one here

print to pad

‘process journal’ have just made the transition to an ipad app and very credible it is too, probably one of the better examples i’ve yet seen, clean and highly accessible, plus it’s free… so what are you waiting for?
