silver

the ‘amsterdam music theater’ (HMA) celebrates its 25th anniversary this month and we have been kept busy during the past few months creating a small identity around this event

the ‘HMA’ brand is relatively young in itself so i felt that the sub-identity should stay ‘close to home’, using the existing colour scheme and overall feel, the principal additions are the ’25’ monogram in the logo and the use of metallic silver (instead of the standard black) to emphasise the occasion

the logo has several variations employing the three main colours, red, black and white in rotating combinations amongst the large amount of the material produced were a series of posters, billboards, program brochures, flyers, t-shirts, flags etc etc.

act two

interesting mix of photographers in the ‘second act’ festival, currently taking place in amsterdam: …the Second Act investigates the intersections between photography and performance. It questions how performance can be captured through the intervention of the camera, and how the live action can say something fundamental about the potentials and pitfalls of photographic documentation. The Second Act treats photography as a live practice and as a medium that is never permanently captured in a still image.

my WTC

…from it’s very beginning (the construction period in the late 60s) until September 2001 the World Trade Center had a great appeal on tourists and visitors of New York City as only a few architectures do in metropolises: who ever has been there, had a picture taken of him-, her- or themselves in front of, on top of or inside this building. This kind of fascination based on cultural projections is what this blog wants to capture…

an online databse of personal memories and stories from the now defunct twin towers in NYC, the idea is to share the stories and images without trying to make any particular statement about 9/11, nice… (link via photographer ‘paul scott’)
