new work
two of the large format posters (from a series of ten) which i have just completed for the ‘dutch national ballet’, the project was an open invitation to amateur photgraphers to shoot for one day during rehearsals, 250 eventually took part and a jury (of which i was a member) chose the ten best ones for a small ad campaign (due to be posted around amsterdam within two weeks) congratulating those winners…
i will post the whole set soon, when the campaign goes live
plus a new poster for the upcoming ‘nutcracker’ production (late december) complete with a model wearing matching boots (thanks ingeborg!) also due to be posted in the coming two weeks…

the gif player
…the first device which was able to show a moving image and which is considered to be the pre-runner of modern cinema. The only down part however was the fact that it could only show short movie clips in a loop. An animated gif is exactly that…

more news from the ongoing ‘hoofdzaken’ art project: the finished ‘wheel’ from atelier remy/veenhuizen arrived at the studio last week… one small problem, despite there being several large lifts in the building it doesn’t fit in any of them, so we are having to move to a different location to work on the string typography installation…
we also visited the new ‘oba’ amsterdam city library building yesterday where the first exhibition will be taking place in ealy 2012, if all goes to plan it is going to be great fun making this exhibition…

a nice piece of typo/photo graphic experimentation from designer ‘amandine alessandra’ entitled dance with me, i couldn’t get the gif animation to work on my blog, check it out on her website (update: it’s now working, thanks harm…)
