i just received a copy of the excellent area 2 phaidon’s follow-up to ‘area’ book: a compilation of contemporary graphic design
ballet banners i came across in town today…
these things are almost impossible to photograph they are so long and thin… at least i tried
i’m well red me…
my good friend & talented photographer ‘ruud baan’ asked if he could make some portraits of me last week, little did i know he was going to publish them on his site! oh well… still i love the technique even if the model is a bit iffy…
incidentally ruud has just updated his website with new work and a redesign, have a look for yourself…
not a concept
i just read the following in an old interview with designer ‘bob gill’ in graphis magazine:
Gravity is a concept. The Big Bang is a concept. Relativity and Evolution are concepts. Designers get ideas. Not concepts. Ideas are small. Concepts are big.
i think he’s got a point, that’s one word i may try and avoid from now on…
