me news

audrey corregan

some smart ‘crispy’ work from this young photographer who i just came across online, it’s very ‘now’ and perhaps a bit ‘too fashionable’ in terms of content and cropping, but then again she has a nice warm feel in her images that makes it look very individual and personal…

afrique du sud, dix points!

monitoring the visitor stats for a website can be a dangerous hobby, you get to see lots of charts and percentage rates, but unless you have a serious aim to achieve by watching them (i do not) then it becomes a somewhat pointless, very time-consuming & ever-so-slightly addictive pastime… however i occasionally see countries pop up that surprise me and it’s also very encouraging to see that people regularly spend a large amount of time ploughing through the pages

for example: today alone, three visitors, each individually, viewed more than 300 pages which amounts to roughly 1500 posts or somewhere between one to two hours of their time… wow (one of them even achieved 500+)

anyway, as long as someone is enjoying ‘me studio’ i’ll keep going, so thank you

join the dots

the logo experiment i recently wrote about (see ‘me stuff’ most recent article) has now officially been ‘unrejected’, so i will be taking this idea further in the next few weeks

so far some of the results have been really funny… people seem to fall into two distinct categories: those who notice logos and have a reasonable idea what they look like, or the second category, people who have almost no interest in logos whatsoever and apparently think that most brands are just a row of letters…

the second category, of course, comprises about 95% of the population… interesting, we’ll see how this progresses, if anybody has a good suggestion for a logo that should be in the test, please let me know (see e-mail address on the left)

nikolaus schmidt

this graphic designer (not sure wether he’s german or danish) has some really nice graphic treatments in his work (link shamelessly copied via ‘the serif’… thanks!) [update: nikolaus, it transpires is austrian… apologies]
