the symbol for this years ‘gay & lesbian’ filmfestival in amsterdam are two gay penguins
the campaign (previously made by lennert & sander) has this year been developed by ‘dawn’, in theirt own words:
…roze Filmdagen, came to us in dire need of a poster campaign for this year’s edition. Instead of a poster we came up with two pinguins, Buddy and Pedro. Two ordinary African pinguins, living in the Toronto Zoo, who became famous when it turned out they were gay. The Zoo subsequently separated the inseparable two, creating a worldwide outrage. Buddy and Pedro became a symbol for the fight that sometimes has to be fought for love. We thought it fitting to let their story become the theme of this year’s edition. You’ll find Buddy and Pedro everywhere, from posters to booklets and t-shirts…
