amongst the projects currently in the studio are some film titles (made with finegrain sand & stop-motion) for a dutch short film, new posters for the sugar factory and two new identity projects, more on those later this month… plus several new invites for publication in various books have also arrived this month and an exciting new poster project… so no chance of getting bored for the moment…
folowing on from the design museum in london the stedelijk museum in amsterdam has opened a wim crouwel retrospective this week
the seminal ‘human alphabet’ created by anthon beeke in 1969 with naked ladies (and recently completed with a set of numbers of naked black men) has been compiled in a new book entitled simply ‘body type’; the book is due to be launched in the first week of september in amsterdam with a series of short lectures with beeke, wim crouwel & rené knip amongst others…
i had spotted this poster earlier this week, but the chaps from the ‘amsterdam ad blog’ beat me to posting it: lovely idea for the exhibition’ miffy discovers the rijksmuseum‘, the only problem is the rest of the poster… what a waste to spoil such a good idea/strong image with that layout… no idea who made it, anybody?
a few work things, not very often i see someone actually reading one of my posters, especially one like this, ha ha… and i also got hold of the ‘fotofestival naarden’ t-shirt which looks a lot nicer in real life than it does on this crummy picture i made
and finally the latest two ‘dingen’ books are going to print this week ‘dutch things’ the english language version will be a bit baffling for some readers i reckon, but we are actually pleased about that…
