two very different videos, both to my mind loosely based on the theme of ‘progress’ (or rather the lack of progress)
me news
grey day

whilst the sun was doing it’s best last friday i was in a studio with a whole group of dancers and photographer ‘erwin olaf’ making the season image for the dutch national ballet

erwin keeps a very tight leash on his productions and with so many people in the studio and hanging around the set, there isn’t a very high involvement factor for the art director, still it was good to watch erwin at work again and we should have an image ready within the coming two weeks…

the dancers were all very well behaved and we all left much earlier than planned, surprising as group portraits are usually a nightmare to coordinate, the image will be black & white which is the chosen style for the coming season… more news soon
work in progress

we are currently working on several poster and identity projects at the moment, more news soon
choreographing objects

here is the result of a series i just shot with ‘bart oomes’ for the dutch national ballet, we will be using them on posters and brochure covers for the early summer ‘holland festival’ production (from two promising young choreographers: ‘sidi larbi cherkaoui’ + ‘david dawson’) which will feature some very innovative dance and stage sets, so this felt to us like a fitting approach…

it was great to work with bart and fascinating to see the homemade latex catapult he constructed to launch those black ribbons into the air… now on to designing the poster, more news as soon as it’s ready
rebekka ehlers

some really nice, playful stills work from photographer rebekka ehlers (via my friends from ‘upper orange’)
