(thanks to ‘jona rotting’ for the tip)

the rotterdam film festival is celebrating it’s jubilee with an ‘XL’ edition this year, the poster is from rotterdam’s finest 75b, a lot of their work has a really unpolished quality to it (much like ‘mevis and van deursen’) which is one of their strongest points, unpretentious and highly communicative work

a beautiful tactile illustration from peter crawley

(thanks to mister thijs ‘eierkoek’ van exel for the tip)

just a few images (i know not very exciting) from the talk i did on monday: designer ‘herman van bostelen’ did the logical thing and decided not to prepare his talk at all, not bring any work to show and just see how it went, it went well he’s an entertaining talker i think, young studio ‘hoax’ did a talk on ‘fanzine culture’ and i (stupidly) was hoping to rely on technique, the idea was to hide behind a large monitor and talk to the audience via the safety of my screen, in the end there wasn’t a screen so i had to skip my presentation and just show some work, oh well, that’s life…. still it’s always nice to meet the next generation and talk about our profession
