a copy of the first and (very) limted edition book from artist hester scheurwater arrived in the mail this week…
vlisco freedom
one of the most original poster designers i know ‘michiel schuurman’ quit his practice last year to go and work full-time as an in-house textile designer at renowned dutch textile brand ‘vlisco’
i’ve been meaning to interview him for a while now about how it’s going and whether he made the right decision… but too late: somebody at mercedes benz already has… sounds great (despite the multi-language website it’s a dutch only interview sadly)
shyness and arrogance
it’s been discussed to death already this album cover but i really like peter even if he rambles on a bit, so i’ll post it anyway…

delft white
reproduction classical ‘delfts blauw’ tiles made with a biro and… used coke wraps, made by local artist marc
i haven’t seen them in person yet, but the resulting effect looks quite strange and aesthetically pleasing somehow… the reference to hollands’ colonial past and trading heritage is a happy bonus i guess..
