…an idea for a series with honest logos, revealing the actual content of the company, what they really should be called. Some are cheap, some might be a bit funny, some will maybe be brilliant. I don’t know… the one shown above is the best in my opinion…

a sneak preview of a small identity project i am currently working on, more news soon…

yet another competition for a corporate logo we really need (or do we?… why?) and yet another crowdsource project which invites a whole bunch of amateurs across the planet to make embarrassing design proposals…
actually a few are not bad, but what (i ask myself) is truly the point of all of this stuff? and why are respected designers actually endorsing this nonsense? come on people please… don’t

looked at one way the annual ‘logolounge’ trends 2011 roundup could be seen as a fairly cynical attempt to debunk the myth of originality, or to unmask the imitators… looked at another way it could be seen as proof that graphic design (and identity design in particular) is as susceptible to the whim of the times as any other area of communication
after all if design is the vehicle we use to clarify and define are lives and the world we live in, what’s wrong with that? although admittedly some of those logos chosen to illustrate the case are a bit naff to be honest…
