if you are familiar with amsterdam, the fabulous hand-rendered swash typography of the old (heineken & amstel beer) café windows, probably hasn’t slipped your attention
type designer ‘ramiro espinoza’ was surprised …that such gorgeous and original letters have largely been ignored in a country with such a rich type and letter-making tradition… and decided to make his own reproduction font, now for sale via myfonts
he also wrote a very interesting background article on the subject of this sadly dying/disappearing art form
