great spatial/typographic ‘ambigram’ from markus raetz

based on a ‘life magazine’ cover image from 1938 portraying a chinese soldier (by robert capa): mister joe black has created this incredible tactile illustration with spray-painted plastic (chinese made) toy soldiers… impressive stuff


visited yesterday with the family: the revamped and revitalised stedelijk museum
finally back (on the original site) after 10 years absence; it’s been too long… but it looks amazing and if you ask me now that the new (& much criticised) identity by mevis en van deursen has been implemented and started to come to life around the museum i think that it actually works really well (i had decided to not join the flood of negative comment on the logo until seeing the whole story)

two interesting ‘tactile’ projects i came across this week: a poster for ‘public bikes’ made with 4,000+ bike chain links by sagmeister & walsh

and an amazing piece entitled technological mandala no. 2 constructed from soldered components and microchips from leonardo ulian, shown below…
