if you have ever visited the UK you will know that we have a tradition of holding on to traditions, like the very unwieldy british electrical plug, it’s been due for a rethink for years and this is a wonderful (as yet unrealised) solution, somebody please make it… (thanks to my mate ‘sallie’ for the tip)
i spent the day in a huge warehouse in eindhoven doing preliminary judging for the dda together with a whole group of fellow designers, a very tiring but equally inspiring day, more news on the nominations should be released soon…
i really love this old image (by cor jaring) recently published in a dutch design magazine: it’s designer ‘anton beeke’ back in 1966 getting arrested by the police for being rowdy and disobeying authority… the reason i’m posting it is that i heard today that anton is quite seriously ill and i wish him the very best, keep on disobeying them anton…
this must be the last blog on earth to mention this thing, but it’s still worth a mention i thought: lego are planning a digital camera and no, the blocks cannot be moved, they’re fake… the idea is probably better than the reality in this case…
