angus hyland (in two parts) at the design museum, london, recently talking about his excellent new book ‘symbol‘ i haven’t had time to watch it yet personally but i’m sure it’s worth a few minutes of time… now i just need to find those few minutes myself
one of the (to me) unknown names amongst the image-makers featured at the 2011 edition of ‘fotofestival naarden’ (see also previous post) is turkish-born vesi yildirim who makes unsual, so-called, ultra slow-motion portraits
i will also post some of my other favourites in the coming week for those who are unable or unwilling to attend the event, in fact i still haven’t had the time to go yet, but the client tells me that they have already exceeded the visitors numbers from all other past events in total, with two whole weeks yet to go… pretty impressive, must be due to our identity i guess…
i will spare you the bloody details, but a series of unfortunate events resulted in ‘me studio’ being asked by a client if it was possible to design and produce a 120 page reference (photo)book for this years ‘fotofestival naarden’ in less than two days…
in fact it was: 36 hours from start to print… we love a challenge and the result is hopefully pretty amazing considering the timeframe (we’ll see)… but it is not an experience i would like to repeat any time soon… sure it can be done but my computer will probably melt if it try that again… by the way if any clients are reading this, forget i posted this… it didn’t happen, ok? thanks
