…our most recent cover was quite the challenge for the illustrator Tim Enthoven. He spent 60 hours illustrating 1,028 people for our article on Gilad Shalit. By hand. Enthoven drew each original figure at about 0.8-by-0.2 inches with Pigma Micron fineliners. “The pain” was the hardest part of the assignment, he says…

chilikov

a new name to me and some beautiful documentary work with a kind of ‘painterly quality’ to it from russian image maker sergey chilikov, he doesn’t have a website it appears but google the name and you should see plenty of his work

identity crisis

when my friend martyn needed a model for an archetypal ‘advertising man’ for a full page illustration in todays edition of dutch national newspaper ‘de volkskrant’, guess who he chose; ha ha, hmm not sure if i should be flattered or insulted…

somebodys watching me

an art student from arnhem ‘matthieu pieters’ has been following me around for the past 24 hours, making pictures and taking notes of everything i do, say and consume… for a school project

he actually stayed at our house last night and the results will be a (potentially quite embarassing) summary of my life and bad habits in a 24 hour period, bundled in book form… looking forward to seeing the result matthieu!
