lost & found

i regularly receive invites for lost & found a series of occasional art meets in amsterdam, their latest invite designed by roel wouters is a beautifully executed fold-out sheet on rough paper printed in five bright colours, featuring an ISO line chart (in black & white) and was produced using the old fashioned stencil technique, very nice, his site is definitely worth a look too…

incidentally he is also responsible for the zzz promo i mentioned a while ago

the language of the global polis

NAI publishers have just released a beautiful book about ‘otto neurath’ the godfather of information design, whom i recently mentioned following an exhibition at the centraal museum in utrecht on icons & info graphics, worth a look (museum and book)

i once made some neurath ‘inspired’ icons for an architecture magazine cover about new building work in progress at schiphol airport, as shown below…

lex reitsma latest

this is lex reitsma’s latest poster for the dutch opera (DNO) which is a ‘trompe l’oeuil’ image of someone putting a poster in a frame, i really love this one

unfortunately lex still doesn’t seem to have a website, which is a shame for someone with such an outstanding portfolio (the image was incidentally shot by him too) it looks much better in real-life by the way… this is the best image i could find online

on the move variation

narayana (who shot the ‘on the move’ poster for me) mailed me this variation on the colour scheme after seeing the latest ‘jack johnson’ cover, would have been nice too… but i’m very happy with what we made also :)

how weird

have you ever wanted a realistic looking plastic doll of yourself? no me neither

however if you ever feel the urge this company might be able to help, with a very uh… lifelike replica of you, i find this very odd…
