i have been busy working for a series of new clients (more news soon) including a new book publishing house

these are some of the covers and type treatments currently going on..

talking of cd packaging, as the record industry struggles to keep afloat and the cd format looks doomed to go the way of vinyl… there seems to be a resurgence of well made, unique packaging styles around, thievery corporation have always paid a lot of attention to their design and the latest release ‘radio retaliation’ is no exception…

the carboard cover reveals a large format fold-out poster made in sixties activist ‘black power’ style graphics, with a mix of illustration/photography and hand drawn type, very stylish work and it did the job: i paid for the cd… but haven’t managed to find a design credit for the maker yet

i saw this guy’s website on ‘the serif’ blog this week and had a good look, some very nice stuff, including this cd cover that clearly took a lot of work to make, shame it ends up at such a small size, the font experiment shown below also caught my eye…

i had already seen this really nice set of stamps during the ‘dutch design awards’ jury but they are worth a mention because they look so fresh… their website is also worth a visit

another set ot stamps that was released this week are these funky little ‘gnomes’ made in 5 spot colours by mister dennis koot, great fun and pretty off-beat for the post office
