the term which roughly translated reads ‘courage to rage’ is the name of a newly launched international (german) poster competition: mut zur wut which invites designers to make a personal piece based on a subject which they feel strongly about, judges include none other than ‘pierre bernard’… entries can be submitted till late may

the ‘livingroom’ exhibition space known as schrank 8 is back in amsterdam at last… this seventh edition features the work of ‘koen taselaar’ and opens next week (20th of april) at 5 pm
this series of events hosted by designer ‘hansje van halem’ is definitely the best cupboard-size design expo in amsterdam… of course it is also the only cupboard-sized expo in amsterdam but it would still be the best even if there were others, worth a visit…

we’ve just completed a new poster for a special homage performance by the dutch national ballet to honour the (recently deceased) legendary choreographer ‘rudi van dantzig’
to create something with a difference for this special event i contacted his former partner and fellow choreographer ‘toer van schayk’ who kindly shared a number of photo albums from rudi’s personal archives to find an image of rudi that was as yet unknown to the public… together we found this wonderful black & white portrait (dating back to circa. 1956) which seemed very fitting for the occasion, many thanks to ‘toer’ for taking the time to help find the image…
on a related note: the exhibition at the dutch poster museum featuring a large selection of our ballet posters is entering its final week, you have until next sunday if you are interested…
