some full-page ads for the sugar factory (actually just posters reduced down in size) we made recently
me news
nowhere like here
a gaffer tape poster from ‘vandejong’ (i think) for photography museum ‘foam’
the queen’s head
a beautiful illustrated (3 spot colour) poster, featuring the heads of british queens through the ages, arrived in the post this week from artist katja spitzer
tin can, tin cannot
sad news this week: the dutch government in all of their wisdom (not) have decided to kill the ‘theater institute’, even a planned relaunch as a museum and financial constructions that would involve using accumulated assets have been blocked, so it’s goodbye tin
the collection will not be kept together and hundreds of years of invaluable material is now in danger of disappearing, the ‘dutch theater poster awards’ for which i have been nominated several times and been actively involved in for several years now will of course also never take place again… another one bites the dust
mister jona
the latest interview on the ‘posters in amsterdam’ blog is with fellow amsterdam poster designer and friendly fella: mister jona rotting, who has some interesting views on the business and some kind words about me, the feeling is mutual jona! thanks for sharing…
