an exhibition of the ‘2nd chicago poster biennial’ winners is currently taking place at the harrington school of design, during july, featuring one of our posters which was chosen last year, there is also a short (related) article on the design observer this week
plus the chunky size competition catalogue has (finally a year later) been published and is available from the official shop for poster lovers everywhere… my own copy should be on it’s way soon hopefully
for the second consecutive year the dutch design week will again be hosting the film and design festival in sunny eindhoven in late october, i’d never heard of it before but it looks interesting…
personal note:
i’m finally ‘back to mac’ a bit later than planned… due to a slightly unusual weekend involving missed ferryboats, towed cars, lots of fines and wasted money, lots of mud and even more rain, sprained ankles, hospitals, customs searches, alcohol, music and a lot of laughs… anyway back to business
things could get a little quiet on the blog during the coming days… check back early next week when normal service will resume and have a good weekend
all 45 DDA nominees have been announced this week, including the selection for the ‘communication’ category which i was part of… overall i’m pretty pleased with the selection but there is bound to be quite a bit of discussion in the field, as there was on the jury days too
by the way if anyone has a beef about the quality of the selection or the fact that you are not selected, you are kindly invited not to contact me and bitch about it (again)… just to be clear the group which selected this work consisted of more than 15 people not just me, nepotism isn’t a factor, you are naive if you believe it is and if you don’t believe me try sitting in a jury yourself someday or even better make some good work and win…thanks, now i’ve got that off my chest…
