interesting debate last night at the design matters series with ’75b’, ‘job wouters’, ‘raw color’ and ‘rogier arents’ discussing the divide between personal and commissioned work as a designer
’75b’ in particular were very articulate, entertaining and well versed on the subject matter… i will actually be interviewing mister ‘job wouters’ myself this coming saturday in belgium, at the new beyonderground (design) festival
after 11 fun years this is the very last poster we have delivered for the dutch national ballet, made together with mister ‘ruud baan’
the shadow of her feet matching his shadow was a happy accident, we only noticed later… this kind of happy accident happened a lot and we certainly had a great time making all of this stuff in the past decade, with a great number of talented image makers and friends and now it’s time for something new…. bye-bye
i shall be doing a workshop at an art school in sunny aix en provence with young graphic design students during the coming week, be good while i’m gone :)
in the run up to the launch of their new book, the bizarrely titled: ‘arab spring & aaron winter’ design studio 75b will be doing a talk in amsterdam on the 22nd of april, the subject of the talk and the book is the constant duality and friction in design between autonomous and commercial practice
