i finally got everything ready for the test shoot today (btw: out of office all day) and finally found a use for those light pink nespresso coffee capsules that taste like cat piss: little feet to raise the pin cushion off the table… best idea i have had all week
i’m currently working on a new string typography piece, this time for a stop-motion film and to make things more complicated, the scale is even smaller than last time and the font i need to build the wonderful ‘courier sans’ (from lineto) is very difficult to create properly using just pin points at this size…
still if my theory is correct it should look great, if not then it was still fun to make; a little faith goes a long way on days like these…
this little video piece made by ‘azalea lee’ (great name) is really charming, the solutions that people come up whilst playing with the coloured blocks is almost a sub-text to the main thread or plot: the people, their characters, style of dress and behaviour in front of the camera… very nice

two new projects i’m currently working on: above is a sneak preview of a new ballet poster (image fragment courtesy of ‘ingrid baars’) we’re still playing around with this one but it’s looking great… and i am also making a title sequence in stop-motion using blue and/or green ‘chroma key’ which involves lots of coloured string, stop motion, ‘after effects’ and a lot of hours patience, the technique is one i’ve just devised so it’s difficult to say how it’s going to work just yet… i’ll be testing the whole thing next week
