whilst i’m on the subject of dazzle patterns; how about this beauty from 1969 feast of fools in dayglo… i like
odd little film from ‘neasden control centre’ made for the ‘one dot zero’ festival (via ‘edson williams’ on facebook, seems to be a really good source of inspiration these days… facebook)

it’s one of those historical things that most designers come across at some point: dazzle painting and designer ‘marian bantjes’ has just made her own dazzle boat, as part of a project for ‘wallpaper’ magazine which looks really beautiful
(thanks to ‘hansje’ for the tip via facebook)

my own ‘dazzle’ effort (shown here above) was a rejected proposal for a truck tarpaulin for recycled bags firm ‘freitag’, back in 2006, i still really need to do something with this one, it still looks great and is such fun to play with…

yet another name that i was not familiar with: french graphic designer and illustrator/artist alain carrier, who is particularly remembered for his ‘humanitarian cause’ posters

here’s a selection of the posters and logos which caught my eye… the series on africa for ‘air afrique’ still look incredibly modern

many thanks to my mate ‘harm’ for pointing me towards this one, after visiting an exhibition currently taking place in sarlat, france
