some amusing monochrome prints from mister parra (via ‘nalden’)

the TDC recently sent a select number of international designers a fortune cookie with a message and a request to send a poster back, the resulting work is being auctioned right now to raise money for student scholarships

several dutch entries can be seen (and bid for) amongst the whole set right here

i stumbled across this brand new design studio (duo) this week, two young designers (launched just 6 months ago) and a website already full of eclectic styles of work, it turns out i had already seen some of their work before, most notably the ‘amsterdam sinfonietta’ posters (made i assume whilst working at studio dumbar) which i find really striking

the cut & paste ‘anatomy’ posters (pictured at the top) also look really innovative, kokpistolet are one to watch… well two i mean

i suppose that if you were to catch an intern moonlighting on side-projects during office hours it would be more logical to tell them off… except that ‘pollie’ my current intern is using her stolen time to make nice stuff like this (paper sculpture) poster for a flute recital by a classical music student, so in fact i’ll blog about the project instead… very nice, now get back to work…

nice illustration from mister ‘martijn f. overweel’ in this weekends ‘volkskrant magazine’ who, if i’m not mistaken, has become a father for the second time this week..
