glam duo

i’m not a big follower of fashion magazines, as the recent introduction of the dutch version of ‘vogue’ confirmed, to my eyes they all look-alike and seem to be very much devoted to pleasing the whims of their advertisers…

perhaps that is the name of the game? but one exception to the rule is ‘glamcult’ not only does they opt for a different format (full-colour newspaper, recently downsized to neater proportions) but glamcult has it’s own distinctive look and is furthermore free… it seems you can survive on advertising revenue alone without compromising your own voice…

they shoot many of their own series like these two recent ones from talented local photographers (and actually a couple, who regularly work together) barrie hullegie (two shown above) and sabrina bongiovanni (lower two images shown below)

esquenasi eskinazi askenazy estenasi

having the word ‘nazi’ embedded’ in the middle of your name certainly has it’s problems, i would imagine…. barcelona-based designer mario eskenazi however has wisely capitalised on this fact in a funny way, a nice welcome note to one of the most inspiring portfolios, of its sort i have seen in a long time

i have no idea if he works solo or not, but the output of his studio is truly impressive in sheer volume but mainly in quality and consistency…

the projects are a great mix of identity, communication, books and posters and the enthusiasm he puts into his work is clear to see, take a while to look around in-depth = worth it… i promise

thanks to creative review for the tip and i salute you mario esquenasi eskinazi askenazy estenasi
