a new publication from quality design publishers unit editions is due for release in late august
the book entitled: ‘type only’ …celebrates a current trend in typography: type unsupported by illustration or photography. In other words, typography and letterforms on their
own – solus.
Through the work of around 100 graphic designers from around the world, Type Only explores the communicative and emotive power of type when used in isolation…
this weekend i visited the rietveld academy graduation show, as usual always worth the trip…the graphics department was perhaps less interesting than in previous years i found, although one student stood out in my memory: sophie rogg
a swiss student who created a series of bright, graphic textile patterns with unlikely titles such as ‘the axis of evil according to george w. bush’ and ‘tax havens’
her prints were not only interesting as an idea but were also beautifully executed in multiple extravagant colours using flags and symbolism
this little book series look amazing, i ‘want’ them all, even if the contents are less appealing to me…
