an imminent book release from the ever-excellent unit editions: entitled type plus, as is always the case it looks reassuringly promising…
2500 drawings
coming friday is the final day to see the expo in haarlem of local designer ruben steeman’s impressive collection of ten years worth of daily drawings

london’s iconic bookstore (once the largest in the world) moves its 500,000 books, just 100 metres further down charing cross road to the former saint martins school of arts building; in a bid to revive their fortunes… i wish them good luck, the world needs more books
why i love tatoos
…my personal fascination is related to their history, a subculture that has mutated to haute couture…
photographer and graphic designer ralf mitsch has just completed his personal tatoo photography project with a neat book
the images are accompanied by short stories and anecdotes from the portrayed individuals, who were all interviewed by henk van straten; the subjects have all been shot against a consistent skin tone background colour, creating a strong effect of focussing the attention on the tattoos rather than the differences in the people themselves
you can order a copy order online via mendo
and in what is most probably a case of ‘great minds think alike’ local photographer krijn van noordwijk has just completed a book on the very same subject too
