dries

really nice idea for a catwalk show: dutch artists ‘gijs frieling’ and ‘job wouters’ were approached by one of my favourites: dries van noten to create the ‘live’ backdrop for the runway for his show this year

they also created prints for fabric… an interview can be found here (dutch only)

get into the groove

‘microscopic photographs that show two full rotations of the grooves within three different genres of vinyl records. The prints allow the viewer to see and understand how audio is translated when pressed into a vinyl record. The patterns of grooves are explained and compared between genres of music.’

from ‘the clash’ to ‘ronnie size’ to classical, artist tim sanders lays bear what the sound of music looks like

kolourful life

he’s been a favourite of mine for a long time, i share the same mentality about embracing the process and not shying away from the ‘long way round’ and although these pieces have been around for a while, this micro site is worth a new look

ian wright was comissioned by the ‘keaykolour’ paper company to make three artworks using their product range and has subsequently shared the process and thinking behind his work, the accompanying videos cannot be embeded annoyingly… but you can see them all here, very inspiring stuff

also check out his own portfolio
