recent design graduate ‘mark goss’ from the UK contacted me about his new publication ‘curious fiend’ which is an independent publication featuring artists, illustrators, photographers and more

i have been a subscriber to dutch design magazine ‘items’ for years and was sorry to hear on the grapevine recently, that they have gone bankrupt… the recent redesign by ‘thonik’ was pretty disappointing to me but it’s a shame to see them go… however, when i received a letter asking for payment of my latest subscription fee this week (without even a single mention of the bankruptcy) my sympathy turned a bit sour… this isn’t the first occasion i have recently had to notice that the crisis also seems to be affecting people’s scruples…

i came across this beautiful artwork with hybrid animal/plant images on a cd by german (or swiss?) dance-combo ‘zwickwer’ made by designer ‘viola zimmermann’ if i am correct, this is her portfolio although the ‘zwicker’ stuff doesn’t appear in her online folio

interesting communication from ‘honda UK’ who are using this campaign to explain that a factory which had temporarily suspended production is up and running again… not sure what i think of this really…

that’s the sound of a job vacancy at gazprom and just at a moment when his royal highness ‘obama’ is due to visit russia…
