these are the two other finalists vying for the dutch design award in the category ‘best corporate identity’ the text is taken from the press release sent out yesterday:
[i”>The Stone Twins – ONLY[/b]
A new location should go hand in hand with a new corporate identity, is what ONLY advertising agency thought. In their design of a new corporate identity, The Stone Twins found inspiration in the new location. The logo printed in glossy foil reminds one of the water surrounding the location. The use of grey cardboard and the typography add an industrial touch to the correspondence.
[i”>Thonik – Architecture Expo Venice[/b]
An easily recognisable brand identity is indispensable for a temporary event. That is why the 11th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice called on Thonik design agency. The world globe and the archetypical house became the central symbols, which can be used both two-dimensionally and threedimensionally. The design allows for endless configurations and series.
and of course me:
[i”>Me Studio – Suikerdepot[/b]
With its low budget corporate identity project for film production company SuikerdepĂ´t, Me Studio proves that corporate identity does not need a complicated underlying meaning to be original. Me Studio simply put sugar cubes on pink newsprint and took a picture of that. The style is a perfect match for the self-willed character of the company.
i would be seriously surprised if ‘thonik’ don’t collect the prize on october the 17th, if i was in the jury they would be my choice, for sure… anyway it’s nice to have been nominated especially with so much high quality work on offer around me, good luck to all of the finalists, as the press release said: the jury have a tough job ahead of them… there is also a book in production featuring all of the finalists which will be released on the evening of the awards..
