this fascinating ‘new’ shape named a ‘gömböc’ was invented by two romanian mathematicians several years ago…
The Gömböc mimics the "self-righting" abilities of shelled animals such as turtles and beetles…On a perfectly horizontal, smooth surface without friction a Gömböc will always return to its single stable equilibrium position.
