congratulations to my mate ‘sander plug’ who has just won the ‘cinema poster award 2009’ plus some well-deserved cash… the live award broadcast can be seen here, even better is this amusing interview where sander embarasses holland’s worst presenter ‘matthijs van nieuwkerk’ (dutch spoken, see around the 12 minute mark), the poster actually bears a striking resemblance to this old magazine cover, but he designed that too so he has, at least, plagiarised his own work…

His passion was so great that often he worked night and day without stopping. The artist?s wife remembered that he was working at his drawing table till the last moment when he was taken to the hospital. Stefan Kanchev died on August 22nd, 2001 at the age of 86…

i spotted this cool poster for night club ‘trouw’ today, made by the same folks (178) who used to do the stuff for the (now defunct) night club ’11’, they are developing a nice ‘raw type’ style for this series
squiggly type
serbia-based designer peter gregson has a very diverse portfolio, although the hand-drawn type stuff appeals to me more than the more ‘slick’ stuff
