these two odd people are one of my favourite clients, ‘nathalie’ & ‘matthijs’ are the creators of the ‘dingen’ childrens book series which i design (see ‘me work’) there are two new editions due early 2010 but in the meantime they are going to pick up a prize for ‘best new children’s book’ tomorrow night at the newly refurbished ‘rijksmuseum’ in amsterdam, they are one of the six winners and well deserved it is too

the penselen exhibition will be open to the public from thursday… so congratulations from me (see you tomorrow night) and also thanks for being such an odd client…

like for example the exsistence of an alternative form of typography for the blind, commonly known as the ‘moon alphabet’ it seems not everyone can read braille, more info here, here and there is even a downloadable ‘moon’ font here

in response to the current trend and interest for paper architecture there is an exhibition which is due to open soon: slash: paper under the knife at the american ‘museum of arts and design’

there are many photographers who owe a debt to the master ‘irving penn’ but most aren’t as good as jenny van sommers great stuff, enjoy…

interesting collection of posters, it does what it says on the box: they are typo and graphic… the samples shown are from, paula scher, peter saville, alex trochut and alvin chan, although for the rest they are largely all by unknown names, which makes it more interesting as a collection if you ask me…
