dutch film director ‘michiel van erp’ recently released his documentary on photographer erwin olaf which i finally got to see this weekend… it’s an incredibly frank and thoughtful portrayal of a photographer enjoying success and struggling with illness all at the same time, definitely worth seeing… you can see a preview here

last week some unbelievably stupid thieves stole the notorious ‘arbeit macht frei’ sign that still hung above the gates at auschwitz, this weekend it was recovered, albeit cut into pieces, by the polish police

dresden in 297.500 x 87.500 pixels

the world’s largest digital image has been made recently in dresden germany, the image took 94 hours of processor time to edit and can be seen in a scrollable & zoomable panorma here, be patient the quicktime VR may take a while to load… (link via the ‘photoq’ blog)

summer symphony

mister ‘pepijn zuiderwijk’ moved to new zealand several years back and i haven’t heard from him for a while but he’s still making some great stuff, like this fun sound generator, his work is definitely worth checking, so why not try some salted herring… it’s tasty
